We maintain a curated registry of 87 MCP-compatible tools across 14 categories. Every tool is scored on an 8-dimension system: capability, protocol support, cost, maturity, resale potential, reliability, ecosystem, and agent-native design. Here are the current champions.
Most "best MCP servers" lists are someone's opinion formatted as a listicle. This is different. We run a tool registry with a living belief system that updates from real usage data. Every tool has a confidence score based on observations, not vibes. When a new tool outperforms a current champion on 5 of 8 dimensions, it takes the crown.
This list reflects the state of our registry as of April 2026: 87 tools, 54 category beliefs, 80 champions across sub-categories, and 6 pre-composed tool combinations (composites). The data comes from testing these tools across 17 production projects.
How We Score Tools: The 8-Dimension System
Every tool entering our registry gets scored on eight dimensions, each rated 1 to 10:

A tool must win 5 of 8 dimensions against the current champion to dethrone it. This prevents the "shiny new thing" problem where tools get swapped based on hype rather than performance.

How Beliefs Stay Current
Static tool lists go stale the day they are published. Our belief system stays current through two mechanisms:
- Usage tracking: Every time a tool is used through our API, we record the outcome. Success rates, latency, and error patterns feed back into confidence scores.
- Challenger protocol: When a new tool appears, it gets scored on 8 dimensions against the current champion. If it wins 5 of 8, the belief updates automatically.
This means the list you see today may look different next month. Tools earn their position. They do not keep it by default.
Methodology Notes
Confidence scores have two tiers: 0.85+ means we tested the tool in production ourselves. 0.60 means community-reported data only. Tools with 0 observations are seeded from expert review and need real usage data to increase confidence.
We explicitly do not accept paid placements. Every tool in this registry earned its rating through the same 8-dimension scoring system. The full registry is browsable and searchable.
